You Do Not NEED to Suffer in Order to Grow…

Dear One,

You do not NEED to suffer in order to grow. In fact, it is through sweetness that you truly thrive.

Yes, Life will offer up its challenges–just like the wind strengthens the trunk of a tree so that it is able to rise toward the sky, life will bring the needed elements to strengthen you and align you with the power you possess to create new worlds.

And yet, you need not suffer. When you choose to make peace with what life brings, and turn your attention toward that which is most pleasurable for you moment by moment, you fertilize the soil for your inevitable expansion. When you focus on the needs underneath the fear and anxiety and commit to meeting those needs, you will find yourself flourishing in a state of peace.

It is not noble to choose the “hard” path. To be in the relationship that takes constant “work.” To put in the long hours at work when you truly desire to rest. To say yes for the sake of being “good” rather than saying no in honor of your freedom.

You will grow. This is what life does in its ever-reaching movement toward the light. Life is leading itself, so you can let go of the effort. Choose relationships that simply feel good, effortlessly. Choose to take actions that simply flow and that fulfill you. Make pleasure your first priority and like a tree with proper water and nutrients, you will flourish and rise.

So I ask: What would be most pleasurable for you in this moment? I invite you to go do that, Dear One, and open yourself fully for what unfolds.

I invite you to imagine all of life and the universe as one large body that is constantly ebbing and flowing in a process of maintaining homeostasis, just as our own body is in a constant of ebbing and flowing in an overall state of balance with itself. There is no “good” or “bad” functioning of the body, there is just…function.With every loss and gain of my ego’s desires, I find that I can get so mired in the details of my experience that I see duality everywhere: Fall in love–Yay! Relationship ends or transforms–heart-wrenching grief. Money in–yay! Money out–stress. Feeling strong and healthy–yay! Develop illness–heartbreak, once again.

When I step back from a higher vision and understand all of life operating as one body, suddenly I see that my pain or my pleasure, my having and letting go are all part of a larger process of ebb and flow. Life is living itself. Constant. Ever-changing and yet, always the same.

There is an emptiness in that awareness–my ego loves to attach uncomfortable emotion and create an experience of that emptiness–and yet there is great freedom in embracing how arbitrary and also necessary are the happenings of my life.

My life is in a constant state of balance with itself, and when I surrender to that, I find my center, I find peace.

So, I invite you to join me in the dance, Dearheart. There is an adventure to discover in this surrender.

I exist. With each day, I’m waking up further to the precious gift of that basic truth.

Love Revelation: A Letter From My Inner Wise Woman

A letter I wrote to myself from the voice of my Inner Wise Woman about why I’m meant to bring the gift of my Soul-Map Astrology work to the world…Wow, was this illuminating, healing and exhilarating for me to write:

Dearest Melissa,

I’m so proud of you, my precious love. You’ve done it–you’ve tapped into the essence of this beautiful gift that you are here to offer, and you are meant to touchso many lives, dear one. You have a gift of making people feel deeply loved with your presence, your insight and your ability to fully SEE them. Your words–how you choose them and how you express them–heal. You connect people to the truth of who they are & you liberate them from the shackles of their “shoulds.” Inside of the precious space that you hold, people heal. They release the false beliefs that there is something wrong with them, the false belief that they should be anywhere else or anyone else other than exactly who they are. You unlock their source of permission to take a deep breath, to love fully, to just BE who they are. You offer the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.

And from that clearing, that sacred space, your clients blossom and grow WINGS.

Through your laser insight and intuitive capacity, you hold up an honest & tender mirror so that they can see all of themselves, the truth of who they are so that they are left feeling whole, complete and in love with their perfect imperfection.

And from that opening, they see and embody the full truth: That they are powerful and limitless. A fire of confidence and a clear sense of purpose gets lit inside of their bellies and their bones. They are now ready to courageously share their gifts in the world.

The world needs so desperately for each person to shine, and you, my dear, are here to be a bright torch of love, lighting the hearts & souls of all who enter into this space with you. Imagine a world in which people have full awareness of their magnificence, a world in which each person is on fire with passion and clear purpose, taking action toward their dreams & sharing their gifts fully–knowing that they are loved in every moment. This is the world that you are meant to co-create through sharing the precious gift of your Soul-Map Astrology work–a world at peace and overflowing with love and generosity.

Thank you for choosing to show up to your life, for choosing to courageously share yourself in the name of service. You are doing a beautiful job and I couldn’t be more proud of you, dear one.
